How many times have we heard or been told this age-old statement?: You need to be realistic. It has been instilled and drilled into our minds by our parents and others who are given authority in our lives from the times of early youth and even well throughout our adulthood.

By the time we reach age 18 or 19, if we aren’t careful, that mindset could be irreversibly seared into our brain. Being realistic is important, but it can also be an extreme hindrance to some reaching for their dreams. Why? Because sometimes the goals and dreams we set for ourselves seem unrealistic for the simple reason that we have never accomplished them, or it has never been accomplished before in history!

Where would we be if Alexander Graham Bell had been realistic and thought that it was silly to want to talk to someone by listening and speaking through a device that could be held in someone’s hand? Had he not risked being unrealistic, the telephone may never have come to be!

It only matters how YOU see yourself.

My husband has a saying that I believe is fitting for this post. He says, “I got out of the mind reading business because I wasn’t making any money.”

No, he has never practiced fortune-telling. He’s never had a crystal ball or anything like that. However, there is a ton of validity and a depth of wisdom in that statement that I believe will help you in your Ardyss International business.

In essence, what he was saying was trying to read people’s mind and figure out what they were thinking or trying to pre-determine what they were going to do was an impossible practice. Attempting to do that was frustrating him to no end, so he made the decision to stop because it was getting him no where.

Most people have a propensity to look at others and see the vast amount of potential in them. And in some ways, that is a good thing. For example, seeing the potential in someone may keep you from completely writing off a teen who is acting rebelliously as a waste of your time.

But the reverse side of that is, in your Ardyss International business, it can also be very frustrating because when the object of potential doesn’t live up to your expectations, you can feel let down and hurt.

As against the grain as this may sound, if you really want to be happy in your Ardyss business, you are going to have to stop looking at the “potential” in others.

There have been a number of times when I knew or had seen someone with great social skills and thought to myself, “Wow, they would be a great addition to my business.”

I may not be the most intelligent person in the world, but I know if I keep striking my toe on the corner of my bed at night, next time, I’m going to turn on a light to see where I’m going!

Never stop doing that.

But, what you can’t do is get bogged down in seeing the potential in someone who hasn’t even joined your Ardyss business opportunity, yet. The time to start seeing their potential is in their actual “doing” of the business. That’s when they provide you with tangible evidence to gauge their level of potential.

Learning this one thing can totally help to alleviate the inevitable levels of frustration everyone experiences when building their Ardyss International business.

The old mantra still applies: Some will. Some won’t. So what. Who’s next?

That’s the mindset you have to adopt to avoid being frustrated in your Ardyss International business endeavor.

Is your current vice procrastination? Some say it’s the largest “nation” in the world. It has more citizens living mundane and mediocre lives than any other nation on earth! It’s boundaries keep so many trapped by always coaxing them to put off until tomorrow what they can easily do today.

Give yourself time. Improve one area at a time. Do not make the mistake of attempting to improve five different areas of your life at once. That would be overwhelming for almost anyone.  Pick one, and when you master the one, that’s when you move on to the next.

In its simplest form, all self-improvement is, is a conscious DECISION to make BETTER DECISIONS until they become habits. Think about it. Anything you repeatedly do, doesn’t it become a habit?

If you made the decision to repeatedly practice confidence, confidence would be the norm in your life.

If you made the decision to repeatedly stop practicing procrastination, procrastination would become a thing of the past.

The good news is you can fill in the blank with whatever you need to improve on in your life, and if you made the conscious decision to practice that one thing until it became a habit, the very area you are weak in would almost become as natural to you as breathing!

There are a number of different personalities in the Ardyss International prospects you will come across. In fact, most of these personalities can be classified as one of Disney’s Seven Dwarfs.

Don’t remember the names of those pint-sized pals of Snow White from long ago? Let me re-introduce them to you. They are Dopey, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, Doc, Happy and Grumpy.

I think you’ll be amazed at how well some of the people you have prospected to join your Ardyss business opportunity fit the personalities of one of the Seven Dwarfs.

Let’s start with Dopey.

Dopey is probably one of the most unique of the Seven Dwarfs, and you will find that a lot of your Ardyss prospects are just like him. Poor Dopey has never spoken a word, and when asked why, it was said, “He never tried.”  Your Dopey-like prospects are the ones who cannot think outside the box of having a job. They are afraid to try anything new, especially network marketing. These prospects are just as capable of living a dream life if they started an Ardyss International business, but they are the ones who fail because they are never going even try to test the waters of entrepreneurialism.

Then, there’s Sleepy.

You may recruit some Sleepy-types into your Ardyss business. Sleepy personalities are the ones who will join your Ardyss business and stay in year after year. They won’t quit their business, but they aren’t going to work their businesses, either. They will stay on the books forever. And just like Sleepy, they might wake up every now and then, but they will always keep “drifting off”.  

Up next, there’s Sneezy.

Sneezies always have an excuse. If you allow them, the Sneezy-type will put your patience to the test because they will be making a lot of noise (emailing you, asking your questions, calling you on the phone, texting you), but give back absolutely no results from the time you spend with them. Sneezies are the ones who always have a reason why they couldn’t make it to the Ardyss showcase or get on an Ardyss International conference call or just about any other request you make of them to prove they want success in their Ardyss business. A Sneezy talks a good game, but at the end of the day, their inaction will eventually lead them to failure. And, don’t be surprised when they blame you for not helping them!

Next, there is Bashful.

Your Bashful prospects are just that – bashful! They’ll be super shy and afraid to speak to anyone. They cannot see themselves approaching anyone about their Ardyss business opportunity, and especially not a stranger! Bashfuls view the world through “rose-colored” glasses, and so they truly believe their financial lives are “secure” as long as they have a job. They are the ones who are looked over for promotions at work that they deserve, but don’t have the backbone to make it known that it was their idea and work ethic that landed the “other guy” the promotion. If Bashfuls practiced gaining confidence in themselves, they would make awesome leaders in your Ardyss business, but they never will because they won’t get out of their own way long enough to do so.

This leads us to Doc.

Docs are large and in charge. These are natural leaders. They are going to shine no matter where they are. Docs are the individuals who are going to succeed with or without your help. When you recruit a Doc, all you have to do is get out of the way because they are going to run with the opportunity and make themselves and you a lot of money in the process. Docs command attention, and they know their hard work is what will give it to them. These Doc personalities will become some of the top leaders in Ardyss International. They are hard to find, but when you run across one, your Ardyss business will get a lot more exciting!

Next, there’s Happy.

Happies are just happy people. They add life to any room they walk in. They are happy to be in business with you. Happy to be your friend. Happy you are their upline. Happy to be your downline. These folks are just happy, happy, happy! Happies are great to have in your Ardyss business because they are great with people. As long as you can help keep a happy focused on the task at hand – succeeding in Ardyss– they will happily get their work done and accomplish their goals. And, you both will happily laugh all the way to the bank!

And finally, there’s Grumpy.

Grumpies are kind of similar to Sneezies, but they take making excuses to a whole new level! They blame their upbringing, the government, the “times we live in”, the economy, their boss, their lack of experience, ANYTHING they can muster to pin why they are not living the life of their dreams on. Grumpies blame everyone and everything for why they aren’t succeeding except that infamous person in the mirror (no, not the Evil Queen). They fail to realize that they have the power to control their own destiny. They think their grumpy attitude makes them strong, but all it does is keeps them focused on all the wrong things, and they never get around to taking a long hard look at life and making the necessary changes to create the life they dream about. The lesson to be learned from Grumpies is that you don’t want them in your Ardyss business. Just ignore them and move on to the prospects who are searching for the opportunity that you have. Never waste your time, energy or resources on someone who doesn’t want success as bad for themselves as you want it for them.

Setting goals cannot be emphasized enough. It is vitally important when you are building your Ardyss business that you are consistent in setting and meeting goals. In addition, those goals need to be realistic.

Realistic does not imply that your goals have to be boring and mediocre. There is a fine line between establishing realistic goals and having low expectations, and that fine line becomes a slippery slope for some people.

For example, saying you want to make a six-figure salary per year in Ardyss International is a totally acceptable goal. In fact, it is the ultimate goal for many people.

However, saying you want to make those six-figures in your first three months of business is not a realistic goal for most people (though it HAS been done). Setting such lofty and unrealistic goals is like positioning yourself to fail. Failure makes it harder for you to get started again, and because of that one unrealistic goal, you might give up on your dream of financial prosperity forever.

It is obvious that you should take some quality time to think about your goals and understand just how much work it will take to acquire them. Allow yourself a reasonable timeframe to reach your goals, as well. A six-figure residual income in two years is a good example. It is highly achievable, and it is within a reasonable frame of time.

The difference between setting realistic goals and having low expectations is that when you set realistic goals, you’re still reaching out of your comfort zone and shooting for more out of life. Low expectations simply translate into you not believing in yourself and/or the Ardyss International business opportunity enough to erase all doubt that you can attain financial peace through a diligent work effort.

If you say you would like to acquire $30,000 a year with the help of your Ardyss business, that is a good goal to begin with. But, if that’s your ultimate goal, that can be equivalent to saying that you are not worth that much or able to make any more than that, and if that is your belief, it is truly heartbreaking.

It is completely okay to aspire to great things in your life as long as you do not fall into the trap of wishing to receive them overnight.

Push yourself to meet goals you never thought you could reach, have high expectations for yourself but be realistic about the hard work and effort it will take to get you across the finish line.

Realistic goals beat low expectations every day of the week, so aim for the moon…and even if you miss, you will still land among the stars!
